PATRICK AT RAFFLES HOTEL WAITING FOR HIS SINGAPORE SLING !

So , we are staying in a nice hotel next to the Singapore river ....there are lots of renovated warehouses and it`s central for everything and VERY clean. Singapore is a great place ...loads of gorgeous plants and trees - we saw one today called a cannonball tree and the nuts really are the size of cannonballs so you wouldn`t want one falling on top of your head!

Yesterday we went to Little India and Chinatown ...fabulous ,and we went to the Chinese Heritage Museum in Pagoda Street which was really interesting - we ate in Food Street later ..the food was great but the kitchen leading to the toilets was a bit iffy(I saw that afterwards) The people are REALLY nice and very chatty .

Today we went to Raffles landing place ( just up the river towards the bay) We saw stuff which was there when Dad was here ... the Victoria theatre,Old Parliament House,St Andrews Anglican church,the Singapore Cricket club ,the war memorial and the Lim Bo Seng memorial ( a war hero)All this is in the Pedang area (or the square) I also had a dorian icecream - this is a very smelly fruit which is supposed to be delicious ...all I can say is .... give me a Walls vanilla any day!

We have just come back from Raffles Hotel which must be on the best hotel in the world list...amazing colonial hotel full of lush plants and people sipping Singapore sling cocktails .We didn`t because of the malaria tablets but maybe on the way back! We are really enjoying the Chinese food tho` do make a few mistakes re quantities ...We haven`t been on a bike rickshaw yet but maybe tomorrow ..people doing it are no spring chickens .Pat`s umming and ahhing about applying for a job !

Anyway I`ll close now `cos we`re off out to eat again .. I can`t write every day as we won`t always have connections but I will when I can. I`ve taken a lot of pics so we can bore you with them..
