MONKEYING AROUND

Hope everything is fine and that Wimbledon was good.We have no TV in our room so haven`t really kept up to date. We had an amazing day today as we went to a national Park with two really nice Aussies and shared a taxi there ,one of them (jean-philippe!!!) is in an Aussie punk band called `Red rockets of Borneo` - nice chap We then had to take a boat which went up river ,past villages on stilts and right into the jungle .

Then we set off on a trail to hopefully see monkeys We saw Macaquess ( cheeky and love to steal) silver haired David Beckham ones AND probiscus monkeys.They`re amazing with huge red noses ( the males ) We thought we wouldn`t see any but suddenly they started leaping over the trail.The walk was pretty hard because it was up and down and covered in enormous roots and vines .Th trail ended on a beautiful beach and in front of us was the China Sea .

We had a swim ,the water was so warm it wasn`t really refreshing and were the told to watch out for stingrays and red jelly fish ! The boat guy came and picked us up but the tide was down so we had to wade out to it ..we were covered in mud BUT it was worth it. After that we all jumped into a car that a chap offered us a deal for rather than waiting for public transport ...I was a bit perplexed when he asked us the way back to Kuching and I later discovered that the car was his sister`s and she had no idea he was using it as a taxi service .I hope he had his licence Tonight we`ve changed rooms `cos are old one was booked - it`s really nice with a four poster bed . We`ll feel like Vice Roys!!
Tomorrow we have to get up early as we`re flying up to Kota Kinabalu (north) I`m not sure if the hotel has internet .....hopefully. Anyway that`s it for today ...speak to you soon ...
