KUCHING MEANS `CAT`- HERE`S ONE OF THE MANY STATUES .CHAIRMAN MIOW!

Well - today we had a slow start but we eventually managed to leave the guest house after a nice breakfast . We decided to take a trip up the Sungai river on a tambang boat so we were really low down .It was great and also interesting to see the houses on stilts! and crocodiles (just kidding though the river looks a bit murky so goodness knows what`s down there) Anyway it was fun and the prayer songs from the mosques was impressive - there are a lot of mosques so a lot of songs!We then wandered around looking for a money changer with a good rate ( Pat has this obsession with them )Anyway after that we headed off for some sushi which is very addictive if you like raw fish!
After that we headed off to a museum but I had one eye on the sky which looked VERY dark and thundery.The museum was interesting ...they didn`t seem keen on the Japanese ! but the Brits seem to be highly regarded ( well,those from the beginning of the 19th century
   We then went to our Lebanese cafe where we had another GREAT smoothy ..talking of smoothies there was an Australian couple smoking hubbly bubble - they were there yesterday ! WHAT ABOUT THE GERMS ?
   Tomorrow we may go into the jungle again if we can work out the buses and boats.There are trails and it`s all controlled as to where you can walk. There has just been an enormous thunderstorm but luckily we are inside ...later we will be off for another Chinese meal.The food is wonderful ,lots of fresh fish and seaweed but not too spicey.I took a picture of an elderly lady cutting ferns off the trees - she was up there on that ladder like a youngun and I thought Pat should get himself a job with Kuching council ..I`ve put in an application form for him ! Chief fern cutter or Honorable ladder carrier! Well that`s it for today - we`re certainly not going hungry that`s for sure - no cheese and no yoghurt but PLENTY OF FLIED LICE!!!
